For the first time a Torah scroll will be placed on a submarine in the Israel Navy’s fleet. Until now religious soldiers have not served on submarines, so there was no request for a Torah scroll, but recently some hesder yeshiva students have served there.
The scroll has been especially written for the sub – in a very small size. The dedication ceremony will be done by a Rabbi with a high security clearance (another only in Israel phenomenon!).
