New Beginnings

Tomorrow I start a new job (sorry for no details, but I still like to keep a certain amount of privacy, even when blogging). I can say that it will be the first time in almost 24 years (gulp) that I will be working full time.

I am looking forward to meeting new people, learning new skills, and, frankly, getting paid more than I was before in my old job. I do want to keep up with my blog, but realistically it will probably be a bit slow around here until I get up to speed. I am sure my readers will be patient, because I do love blogging and will be back in the swing of things as soon as I can.

Keeping Up With Other Bloggers

I feel a bit badly about this, but I haven’t kept up with other bloggers for awhile. Here and there I read other Jewish blogs, but I have been spending a lot of my computer time checking out the American elections (I am a news junkie, and will be until the day after the American elections) and the news sites.

So, with this in mind, I decided to make more of an effort to get back to the Jewish blogosphere, especially now that it is Elul. (Wish me luck).

Batya hosts this weeks Havel Havalim here.  A Soldier’s Mother will be hosting next week.

Batya is also in charge of the Kosher Cooking Carnival. Getting new recipes before all of the holidays in Tishrei sounds like a good idea.

A Woman’s Perogative…

Ok, so I took another look at my blog theme and decided that as much as I love things simple, it was too simple. So I changed my mind, which I hear is a woman’s perogative.

So, how do you like this design?

A New Look

I am a person who loves stability, and I hate change. That is why I have stayed with the same design for my blog for so long.

This past week I decided to play with different designs, and I came up with one I liked. Still simple, but with a bit of color to it.

What do you think?

A Note About the Background

I usually don’t like to have a background color on my blog – but every December WordPress adds the moving snowflakes. I really like them (in my part of the world this will probably be the closest thing to snow that I will get…), so I added the color so everyone can see. Move your mouse on the blog and the snowflakes move with you. Even though I turned 50 a few months ago I still get a childlike pleasure in this!
