News reports say that the Arabs in Judea and Samaria are “celebrating” a little bit early, as they anticipate some good news coming from the UN.
How they celebrate is the key to why they won’t really get a state (and I am very skeptical that they really want one).
First, they are rioting at various points, including Kalandia checkpoint, where they are burning tires. Second, there was a bulletin just a few minutes ago that shots were fired at a private car on road 55 near Karnei Shomron.
How do Americans celebrate? They eat (barbeque?) and drink, and perhaps fire off firecrackers. How do Jews celebrate? They eat, drink (most of the time a little bit, except on Purim where they drink a lot) and dance. Most people can relate to these activities, and wouldn’t dream of rioting as a way to celebrate something.
If you find joy in destroying things, then you cannot focus on building. And if you can’t focus on building then you will never have a state.
