It’s never too late to prosecute Nazis. Mark Gould, and American who went undercover for four years posing as a neo-Nazi sympathizer, has gathered evidence in order to sue Bernhard Frank in civil court. Allegedly one of Himmler’s inner circle, Frank was videotaped telling Gould about his relationship with him. He is alleged to be the one who signed the “start order” that began the genocide of Jews.
The court case is not only important in and of itself (it will be interesting to see what, if any, damages are rewarded) but it is important as a media event. Holocaust deniers will find it hard put to dispute evidence given by the Nazis themselves.
I can’t help but get satisfaction from the fact that this old man brought on his own destruction by boasting, thinking that the younger generation looked to him with admiration.
