I Am Addicted to This Song

I never tire of the landscape in Israel, even in the dry summer months. I enjoy looking out of the car window when driving to work or on the way to Jerusalem for Shabbat.

I especially enjoy it when listening to CDs, and I am positively addicted to the following song, from Udi Davidi’s newest album. (We have them all. I actually enjoy the same music as my teenagers!)

Udi Davidi is the MAN around this place — especially erev Shabbat. Ever do sponja to שמח (from his “Time for Everything” CD)? Now THAT is a great, uplifting way to bring in Shabbat!

Thank you so much for posting this. It is just what I needed just now. I like the videos of his singing with a backdrop and scenes of Eretz Yisrael, especially the shepselach. Can you recommend any other Israeli vocalists.

    That was beautiful.

rutimizrachi – I also enjoy doing housework to upbeat Jewish music, although the sponja is the man’s job around this house. I do enough with the cooking and dishes!

neshama – Aharon and Yonatan Razel are similar. Mishpachat Vach are also good, although they lean a bit more to “easy listening” (my kids think they are too corny).

Ezzie – thanks. I need to do this more often!

Neshama: And Gil Akibayov, and HaMadregot — and who can leave out Yosef Karduner? Sometimes they are mellow, sometimes rockin.’ The same with Reva l’Sheva and Yehuda Glantz. There y’go. That’ll keep your CD player busy for a while.

WBM: Yeah, I hear. But sponja is therapy. I let them do the outdoor work (garbage, recycling, lifting that barge and toting that bale) — and forbid them messing up my nice clean kitchen floor. ;-P

Heh… I managed to smuggle 2 of our Udi Davidi CD’s out of the house, Mama – one in my laptop and one still in the car radio from our vacation….
